The diorama is already finished for a while but still we would like to give you a little insight into the creative process.
We thought about combining our popular Titan Wall silver set with our outposts in a diorama. We put the silver set closed on the hill. We could have put a wide wall but decided to go with the version from the Kickstarter.
We were not satisfied at the first set-up because the outpost has repeats itself too much. So we needed a new product, which should connect the Titan Wall perfectly with the fence parts. We came up with the idea for the high bunker. Due to the possibility to place the tower adapter of the Titan Wall on the bunker and to build it up as desired, we have created a new flexible product.
The base of the plate is a 1cm thick MDF board measuring 60x60cm. So that the plate can be raised more easily, we have screwed about 3cm high supports under the plate. During the rehearsal the basic idea in the outposts was to make small ways to the barracks.
In the Kickstarter we already thought of putting guns on the towers. With the bunker we have realized a long plan. Now either large artillery or the smaller flak can be used instead of the spire.
To bring another color into the diorama, we searched for small trees that fit in the 8mm scale. We found what we are looking for at the company “NOCH”. Trees in scale “Spur Z” fit perfectly with our buildings. However, the colors of the trees were too intense. To change that, we painted all trees with a dark green.
The paths were modeled with putty before and then completed with our textured sand suitable for 6mm – 8mm. Since there was no suitable sand mixture for the scale, we developed this product for the plate ourselves. Subsequently, the entire plate was primed black except for the paths. After the black was dry, we used ivory acrylic paint to highlight all the sand.
We are very satisfied and hope you like it.
